Debut Novel

The Lab, the Witch, and the Simulation

Fifteen-year-old Molly Williams doesn’t just play video games; she codes them. She’s thrilled to spend the summer at tech giant LTG, and can’t believe she gets to work on their new, top-secret technology. She and her friends will explore a virtual world that could pass for real life. But when they peek behind the curtain, they’re plunged into a perilous realm where anything seems possible, except escape.

About Me

Hi, I’m John Gabriel.

I’ve always loved to write, whether it was stories at home or technical documents at work, but none of those projects meant as much to me as this book. It is literally a labor of love, a gift for my granddaughter Caroline.

She loves Math, Science, and Art, so they play an important part in the story. The location, a Silicon Valley tech giant, reflects my fascination with Big Tech. Its incredible data center is a turbo-charged version of my former workplace.

I wrote this book for Caroline. But if you like fantastic adventures, exploring the borderland between dream and reality, and heroes that survive by their wits, I bet you’ll like it too.

Snapshot of the author outdoors. He's also wearing glasses.
