No Rockets! So what is it?

It’s a story about six teenage girls lured into an illegal experiment by a billionaire “Tech Bro.” It’s about technology currently under development that could create a virtual reality directly in the brain.

And it’s about Molly Williams, who discovers that her dream-come-true summer camp might just kill her. This threat will test not only her STEM skills but also her character.

Why do I write?

Obviously, to get rich! (Laughs hysterically.)

No, I write stories I want to read. There are certain story elements I can’t get enough of, and those inspire me to write. I love surreal scenarios, stories that make you question reality. And I like heroes who play well with others and rely more on brains than brawn. In this book, those heroes are female.

Is this part of a series?

I’m working on the sequel right now. I know these characters have another story to share. After that, I’m not sure. I do know I’ll continue to explore the endless mysteries of the mind. Please sign up for my monthly newsletter (below), and we’ll journey there together!

Why this story?

I’ve always loved stories, like The Wizard of Oz, where a brave character enters an alternate reality full of danger and wonders. My brave character is named Molly, and the world she enters is a computer simulation. Like Dorothy, Molly has friends to help her: the other girls on her NovaCamp team. To survive, they’ll have to work together, which isn’t always easy. Their personalities are as strong as their skills. That was the story I wanted to tell.
